Mac image compressor · one-time cost

Your images have been snacking. Time to get skinny.

Skinny is a tiny Mac app with exactly one trick: drop images in, pick them up smaller — the practical way to save images for the web, email, or a folder that got out of hand. No account. No subscription. A one-time cost, then it is yours. No export wizard named after a Greek god. A diet for files — people are not invited.

Lives on your Mac. One-time purchase, not a monthly compressor. The whole product fits in one sentence, and we intend to keep it that way.

Skinny — drop zone

Drop the chunky ones here

vacation-final-FINAL-v7.jpg is welcome. So is the rest of the folder.

Before

4.8 MB

emotionally attached to its padding

After

410 KB

same photo, looser belt

A picture of the idea, not a lab result. Real savings depend on the photo.

The squeeze

Three moves. Then you go outside.

Skinny is not a studio. It does not want to discuss your color pipeline. You drop images in. They come back easier to put on a website, send, store, and stop apologizing for. No subscription meter in the corner.

  1. 01

    Toss them in

Drag a photo, a screenshot, or a folder that has been “getting organized” since 2019. Gravity does the rest.

  2. 02

    Skinny pinches

The app squeezes the obvious bloat out of the file. You do not have to watch a progress bar develop a personality.

  3. 03

    Walk out lighter

Same pictures. Smaller files. Your email, your site, and your disk all unclench a little.

Why bother

Chubby files are a personality trait. They do not have to be.

You already know the ones. They bounce off email. They make a webpage sigh. They are a dialog-box screenshot that weighs more than the app it came from.

  • Attachments that bounce. Skinny gets them under the velvet rope.
  • Sites that load like soup. A lighter hero image is a kindness.
  • Folders with no exit plan. Drop a pile. Not one precious file at a time.
  • Tools with a cockpit. Skinny has a drop zone. That is the interface.
  • Monthly bills for a smaller JPEG. Skinny is a one-time cost. Pay once, then compress images on your Mac whenever a webpage needs a lighter file.

Other apps want a meeting. Skinny wants a drop.

The usual compressor
Presets, sliders, a manual you will not read.

A Mac window. Your files. Smaller files for the web. One-time cost. Curtain.
Training required
If you can drag a file, you have graduated.

House rules

  • One job. Image compression. Not a photo editor in a trench coat.
  • Made for Mac, and unapologetic about it.
  • One-time cost. Not a subscription that rents you the drop zone.
  • No account to “unlock the drop zone.”
  • We will not promise your cat stays pixel-perfect. Compression always trades a little. Skinny’s job is the obvious bloat.

Simple on purpose. Quirky by accident of taste.

Questions, answered without a webinar.

What is Skinny, in one breath?

A one-time-purchase Mac app that compresses images for the web. You drop them in. You get them skinny. No subscription. That is the product, the slogan, and the documentation.

Will my photos look ruined?

Compression always gives a little to get a lot. Skinny is for taking off the padding so files are easier to send and ship — not for pretending physics doesn’t exist.

Do I upload everything to a website first?

This page is just the front door. The squeezing happens in the Mac app, not in a browser tab with a loading spinner and opinions.

Is there a Windows version?

Not this creature. Skinny is a Mac. It likes the menu bar. It does not want to learn a new neighborhood.

How hard is the training?

If you can drop a file on a window, you have completed onboarding. There is no certificate. We are very proud of you anyway.

Is Skinny a subscription or a one-time cost?

No subscription. Skinny is a one-time cost for Mac — a single purchase, not a monthly plan. You pay once for an image compressor that lives on your machine. There is no seat that expires and no website you have to re-upload to every time a JPEG needs to go on the web.

Can I use Skinny to save images for the web?

Yes. Drop JPEGs, PNGs, and screenshots and pick them up smaller, so they are easier to put on a webpage, in an email, or in a CMS. Same picture, less bloat. How much you save depends on the file.

Is Skinny an online image compressor?

No. Skinny runs on your Mac. You are not sending the folder to a browser tool. Compress locally, then use the smaller files wherever the web needs them.
